Is my contribution tax deductible?
Yes. Feeding Children Stewart (dba. Food for Kidz) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization. Gifts are deductible to the full extent allowable under IRS regulations.
How much of my monetary donation goes toward food?
Can I purchase food?
We are a 5013C, therefore you cannot purchase food. However, if you go to our food store and donate we will ship you the amount that equals what you have donated at $.25 per meal (cases not individual packages).
What countries have you shipped to in recent years in response to human need?
We have four primary countries that many of our containers are shipped to on a regular basis. They include Haiti, Honduras, Afghanistan, and Sierra Leone. We have also sent some of our food to help with the relief efforts from the hurricanes which include Texas, North Carolina, and areas in Mexico.
Is there a minimum number of people needed to host my own packing event?
No! Our motto is that we’ll go anywhere if we can affect the life of one child. While those receiving food are impacted, children helping to package the food to help others are positively affected too. Contact us, and we’ll help modify a the planning and details of an event to fit your ability to help.
What if I’m not located close to your main office? Can I still organize a food packaging event?
Yes! It is important to us that we’re able to assist all people willing to volunteer, regardless of where they are located. We are willing to travel ANY distance and to ANY state if it will change the life of one child. Don’t let your location be the reason you don’t reach out to us! Contact us and we’ll connect you with a partner in your area.
Do you have other offices or warehouses outside MN?
Yes! We have an office and warehouse now in Spokane, Washington. From there we plan to help local churches, schools, food banks, and businesses get food out to those in need.
Can children help package food?
Yes! Children ages pre-school and up are welcome to help according to their abilities.
